Singapore Airlines changes route plans for Airbus A380 flights for next summer

According to ch-aviation, Singapore Airlines has 12 A380s, 10 of which are in service as of December 28th. Both have the same 471-seat layout. There are six suites, 78 seats in business class, 44 seats in premium economy, and 343 seats in regular economy.

According to the latest data submitted by the airline to Cirium and reflected in the booking engine, the A380 is currently scheduled to be used only for flights to Pudong from February 2nd to February 18th. Of course, things can change.

Dubai?!

Dubai will handle almost two-thirds of the world’s A380 operations (takeoffs and landings) next summer, according to schedule analysis.

That’s obviously due to Emirates Airlines, which, as everyone knows, is by far the world’s largest user of this type. British Airways’ last quadjet flight to return to London Heathrow will be flight BA106 at 2:10am on March 31, the day the airline switches to its summer schedule.

According to the latest schedule update, Singapore Airlines is planning two flights to and from Dubai. The reason is unknown. This is the first time a Star Alliance member country has used this type in the UAE.

The schedule is below, all local time. It will temporarily replace the 303-seat A350-900 and sell an additional 168 seats per flight.

  • Singapore to Dubai:SQ494, 15:10-18:25; April 13th and 14th only
  • Dubai to Singapore: SQ495, 20:15-07:50+1; April 13th and 14th only

Summer 2024 A380 Communication network

As of December 28, Singapore Airlines’ summer network that is likely to change is as follows. Taking into account changes to India routes, Singapore Airlines operates seven to eight A380 flights daily from Changi.

  • sydney: 2x every day
  • Frankfurt: every day (Returned from Singapore on March 31st)
  • Hong Kong: every day
  • mumbai: every day (A380 unavailable from June 24th to July 28th)
  • delhi: every day (A380 unavailable from July 29th to September 1st)

In summer 2019, before the pandemic, it was deployed to Beijing Capital, Melbourne, Nagoya (just twice) and New York JFK. (via Frankfurt), Paris CDG, Shanghai, Tokyo Narita, Zurich. Wow: it feels like so long ago.
