Meeting someone you admire can be a shocking experience for anyone, and this girl is no exception.

In a video uploaded to TikTok by Australian TV series Bondi Rescue last Friday (December 29), the narrator says, “Meeting a lifeguard is all this boy wants to do, even though he came all the way from Singapore.” It was at the top of my list.”

The child was seen hugging lifeguard Harrison Reed, who gave him a bemused smile as he hugged her back and patted her on the back.

“He just gave me the biggest hug and just rolled his eyes and started crying,” Harrison, also known as Bondi Rescue Hatt, confessed. “I didn’t really know how to take it.

“That doesn’t happen very often, and it was very special. To think that I’ve had such an impact on someone’s life.”

Harrison said he thought, “Let’s make this kid’s day,” and the video shows him giving the boy a blue lifeguard shirt that he took off his back. They hugged again and another boy, presumably the child’s older brother, joined in as the crew cheered off-camera.

“There was something that definitely tugged at my heartstrings knowing that he reacted like that. It was pretty special,” Harrison said.

Netizens in Singapore were amused by the appearance of their country on a TV show.
