Singapore has reportedly agreed to a deal that means Taylor Swift “cannot perform in other countries in Southeast Asia,” Thailand’s prime minister has claimed.
Suretta Tabisin reported that promoter AEG said she had been informed of an agreement that Swift would not perform on any other dates of her “Elas” tour in the 10-nation Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). sky news.
The pop singer will perform six performances at the National Stadium in Singapore from March 2 to 9, marking the only Southeast Asian stop on the Asian leg of the tour.
Speaking at the iBusiness Forum 2024 in Bangkok, the Thai prime minister claimed he had been told that the Singapore government had offered $2 million to $3 million (£1.6 million to £2.4 million) per show in exchange for exclusive rights.

“The Singaporean government has the foresight to do so,” said Suretta. “If she had come to Thailand, I think it would be cheaper to organize it here and it would attract more sponsors and tourists to Thailand.” he added. At least she needs a subsidy of 5 million baht, but it’s worth it.

Her presence at the sporting event made it the most-watched broadcast in U.S. television history since the moon landing in 1969.
