Singapore will participate as a partner country in the vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in Gandhinagar and announce valuable investments. INR230 billion.
Singapore and its companies will strengthen economic cooperation with Gujarat. This will be done through increased investment in Gujarat’s green economy and sustainability sectors. The investment will be announced during the VGGS to be held in Gandhinagar from January 9 to 12, 2024, Singapore’s High Commission to India said in a statement on Saturday.

“Singapore plans to scale up investment in Gujarat’s green economy and sustainability sector during #VGGS2024. We look forward to announcing an investment of over Rs 2,300 crore,” Singapore’s High Commissioner to India Wong HC said. I mentioned it in my post to X.
According to the statement, Singapore will join VGGS as a partner country along with 30 other countries. A dedicated Singapore Pavilion will be set up to showcase Singaporean companies with a strong presence in the state.

A total of nine companies from fields such as finance, renewable energy, waste management, and logistics will participate, including DBS, Sembcorp, YCH, and Blue Planet. These companies also have plans to increase their investments in Gujarat, the release added.

Mr Simon Wong, Singapore’s High Commissioner to India, will lead a delegation of officials and a business delegation of about 100 people to VGGS. High Commissioner Wong will deliver the opening address at the Singapore Seminar on 10 January 2024.

He said Gujarat and Singapore could explore new areas of mutual benefit, such as space cooperation and investments in new opportunity zones such as GIFT City and the upcoming Dholera Special Investment Zone.
The Singapore Seminar features fireside conversations with business leaders about partnerships and collaboration to build a greener and brighter future together. The panel comprises the Singapore CEOs of Sembcorp Industries, Meinhardt EPCM Group and Blue Planet Group.
Several new memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed and signed between Singaporean companies and the Gujarat government. These MoUs demonstrate Singapore’s continued interest and confidence in seizing new opportunities in Singapore.
