Singapore’s dining scene is always exciting. From Michelin-starred restaurants to restaurants led by notable culinary names, there’s sure to be something to tantalize your taste buds. If you were hoping for a new name for Singapore’s ever-evolving 2024 culinary season, you’re in luck. January has already introduced the first group of this year’s best new restaurants.

Indeed, the implementation of the 9% GST hike that began in early January may make some diners more conscious of their spending. But what’s the point of working hard if you can’t spend your precious money on the tastiest food the city has to offer? It’s the perfect spot for.

FYSH at EDITION (new restaurant)

Singapore Edition was one of Singapore’s most anticipated hotels in 2023, so it’s no wonder that expectations were equally high for its signature restaurant, FYSH at Edition. Helmed by Australian chef Josh Kneeland of St Peter Restaurant and Fish Butchery, the restaurant will serve innovative dishes made using sustainable cooking techniques.

The 154-seat modern fish steakhouse is a first-of-its-kind concept serving ethically sourced seafood and fish dishes prepared on a charcoal Josper grill. The 400g yellowfin tuna ribeye, dry-aged for 15 days, is a highlight here, as is the glistening FYSH egg tart covered in salmon roe and the Valrhona chocolate macaron with yellowfin tuna eye ice cream.

Liberty Singapore (New Restaurant)

At Liberty Singapore, an outpost of Liberty Hong Kong, different culinary traditions collide to create delicious plates. This is also Liberty Group’s first overseas flagship business in Hong Kong. The new Smokehouse Restaurant combines Asian cuisine with Southern US barbecue from the hands of experienced Hong Kong-based chefs Yong Sudu and Chris Tuthill.

Cooked using Texas-style barbecue wood-fired techniques, the East-meets-West menu is evident in dishes such as the flavorful Char Siu Pork Belly. Pair it with more flavorful appetizers like cornbread, short rib dumplings, or Brussels sprouts with Korean-style nocham sauce.

Dew by Whitegrass (new restaurant)

Michelin-starred Whitegrass Restaurant has announced a casual off-shoot concept called “Dew by Whitegrass.” Inspired by the pure essence of dew on grass, Dew by Whitegrass aims to deliver a relaxing dining experience with flavorful creations. CHIJMES’ traditional wing serves delicious European small plates with an Asian twist.

Aiming to be the perfect social spot for get-togethers and after-hours drinks, our inviting menu is full of delicious treats such as mellow choux cheese puffs, tender ‘R’ IGA ribeyes and flavorful anchovy potato bombs .

Entrepeau (new restaurant)

Inspired by Singapore’s position as a bustling port, Entrepot delves into the city’s rich dockside stories and offers an intimate communal dining experience influenced by the techniques and flavors of Anglo-Asian cuisine. .

Robertson House’s all-day restaurant and bar utilizes black-and-white visual cues and is decorated with rattan furniture, foliage, and other rustic elements that reflect the traditions of Singapore’s trading history. Signature dishes include Chinese Terracotta Tea, a consomme of Chinese dried mushrooms infused with tea, served with crustacean tortellini, and French corn-fed corn smoked with dried angelica root and drizzled with homemade herbal honey. and Angelica Root Chicken Roast.

Gypsy Parkland Green (new restaurant)

Eastsiders and those who frequent East Coast Park will rejoice, as a new restaurant is opening in town in January 2024. Gypsy offers a modern take on traditional Japanese flavors, set to the scenic Parkland Green. His second location under the PSGourmet Group brand will debut his menu with an exclusive brunch from 8am to 4pm on weekends and holidays only.

Enjoy hearty meals like the Gypsy Big Breakfast, Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, and the Wagyu Hamburger Steak Plate featuring a handmade Japanese-style beef patty. The store will also introduce a special kids menu featuring junior plates, bolognese pasta, crispy fried chicken with omelettes and cucumber sushi rolls.

CUT by Wolfgang Puck (new menu added)

Apart from the exciting new restaurants opening in Singapore this January 2024, existing eateries are also revamping their menus with interesting new offerings. Renowned steakhouse CUT by Wolfgang Puck recently added the prized Tokachi herb beef to its repertoire. Beef from Hokkaido has a good aroma, is juicy with little fat, and is well-marbled. Enjoy it as filet mignon grilled over Bincho charcoal, New York sirloin grilled over charcoal, or rib eye grilled with dried porcini powder. Don’t forget to round out your meal with a delicious side of Brussels sprouts tossed with confit bacon and some of the best patatas bravas (french fries) I’ve ever had. Crispy spuds topped with garlic aioli and crunchy shallots.

Tokaichi Herb Beef will be sold exclusively at CUT until March 2024.

Gastro Odyssey by TBC Asia (new restaurant concept)

Luxury events company TBC Asia has launched a new fine dining concept, “Gastro Odyssey,” featuring guest chefs from acclaimed Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. The first edition will be held from January 24th to 27th and will be helmed by Thai chef Sujira “Aom” Pongmoen of Khan Restaurant in Bangkok. Chef Aom is the former head chef of Sawan, which received one Michelin star from 2019 to 2022, and is also Thailand’s first recipient of the Michelin Guide Young Chef Award in 2021.

A 7-course lunch or 10-course dinner includes dishes such as Hokkaido crab with fermented rice noodles and oyster tom klong (composed of oysters, smoked and dried fish, and a soup of fresh Thai herbs). Pair with wine. Only 12 seats will be available for each session, and meals will be served in TBC Asia’s private dining lounge. The lounge is located in a secret location in his 9th arrondissement district and will be open to the public on the day only.

Gastro Odyssey’s February and March issues feature Chef Liu Zhen of Hong Kong’s one-Michelin-starred Yong Fu, and Chef Liu Zhen of Bangkok’s two-Michelin-starred R-Haan. Mr. Chumpol Jangpurai will appear in each.
