Gregor Townsend shares his thoughts before the match

Scotland national team head coach Gregor Townsend was chatting to the BBC and said it started with a U-turn on the rooftop, but Scotland had initially requested that the rooftop remain open, but has now chosen to keep it closed.

Townsend said: “The weather has changed. No one wants to play in the rain if they can avoid it. It would have been nice to have a dry day, but everyone is happy now.

“Today is another challenge for us as we believe this team has experience of winning in venues where we have not had great performances in the past. You cannot win games by team selection. What you do in 80 minutes is important.

“Finn isn’t going to change the way he plays.” [as captain]. Anyway, he leads our attack and is a good liaison with his teammates and referees.”
