Spanish forward Dani Olmo is scheduled to return from injury for Saturday’s home game against Eintracht Frankfurt, manager Marco Rose confirmed on Friday.

Olmo got off to a strong start to the season, scoring a hat-trick in Leipzig’s 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup in August, but has since struggled with injury.
He injured his knee while on international duty in September and returned to Leipzig in October, but was sidelined again in early November with a shoulder problem.

Olmo, who came from Barcelona’s youth team, has scored six goals in seven games this season, despite starting only four games.
Leipzig, who have won the last two German Cup matches but lost to Wolfsburg in the second round in October, are in fourth place, nine points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
The 25-year-old, who has 32 caps and seven goals for Spain, joined Leipzig in 2020 after spending five years with Dinamo Zagreb.

Olmo had been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs, but in June he decided to extend his contract with Leipzig until 2027.
