LONDON — Barcelona and Spain midfielder Aitana Bommatti cemented her place at the pinnacle of women’s football on Monday by winning FIFA’s Best Female Award alongside the Ballon d’Or Féminine title.

She was named Australia and New Zealand Player of the Tournament and was also named UEFA Women’s Player of the Year.
“This year has been an incredibly unique year that I will never forget,” Bommati said on stage in London. “This is all thanks to the team I play with, Barcelona and the national team.
“I wouldn’t be here winning these awards without my teammates. I will always be grateful to my family and friends who never let me down.”
