Spanish company Mtech is eyeing Brazil’s renewable energy market, while also considering opportunities in the railway sector.
Carmelo López de Albina, international strategy director at Mtech, said the company, which provides engineering services for the control, protection and monitoring of power infrastructure, is currently hiring Brazil-based talent to explore local business opportunities. He told BNamericas that he is considering hiring him. On the sidelines of the Energyear Brazil 2024 conference.
As of January, Albina was responsible for market evaluation for the company’s international expansion, with its current focus in Latin America being Brazil and having been involved in several deals in the past.
“Brazil is so vast and has special characteristics that it deserves special focus. Brazil alone is equivalent to a continent,” Albina said.
“We’ve seen companies with significant challenges in terms of capital investment pressures, but we bring innovation that ultimately improves the competitiveness of our partners,” he said.
