Event organizer Rum Lab has revealed details of its first European show, to be held in Madrid this April.
The 1st Spanish Rum & Gin Expo will take place on April 26, 2024 at the event space Meeu in Madrid’s Chamartín train station.
The show will feature exhibitors, demonstrations and refreshments focused on rum and gin culture, giving attendees a “unique and memorable experience,” according to Federico Hernandez, CEO of The Rum Lab. is intended to provide.
“Through this educational and sensory conference, we want to highlight national and international brands of rum and gin, as well as Spanish producers,” he explained. “We also strive to contribute to the growth and visibility of the local industry and create opportunities for professionals in the field to connect with each other.”
During the first edition of the Spanish Rum & Gin Expo, attendees will learn about current trends, discover tasting notes and best practices in the rum and gin industry.
The 2024 show was organized by Carlos Carballo, a member of the Madrid Sommelier Association.
The event is divided into three sections: Trade and Industry, VIP Tastings, and Tastings.
The first session of trading will be aimed at food and beverage professionals and will be held from 12pm to 3pm. Tickets cost €39.99 (US$44).
VIP sessions (5:30pm to 10:30pm) feature special tastings and automatic subscription to The Rum Lab newsletter. Tickets can be purchased for €59.99 (US$66).
The general admission tasting session is open to the public from 7:30pm to 10:30pm and costs €39.99.
Rum Lab hosts numerous rum festivals in the United States and Puerto Rico each year.
