St Mirren are in their third day of training camp at Spain’s Pinatar Arena, with Stephen Robinson’s side training hard during the winter break.
After almost two weeks without a game, the Buddies will return to domestic action on Saturday (January 20) when they take on Queen of the South in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup at SMiSA Stadium.
Saints prepared for the tie yesterday afternoon with a friendly against the AFE (Spanish Football Players’ Association) football selection team at Campoamor. New signing Kwon Hyuk-gyu played the first 45 minutes, Lewis Jamison scored twice in the first half, and then Zach Hemming saved a penalty. There were a lot of changes at the half-time interval as most players were given time. One of them was Toyosi Olusanya, who beat the Saints 3-0 with an hour left. AFE Football grabbed a goal from the penalty spot in the 67th minute and added a second goal from a corner kick in the 82nd minute, but were unable to score an equalizer.
Stephen Robinson’s side are scheduled to return to Scotland on Thursday afternoon after further training at the Pinatar Arena earlier in the week.
