Cincinnati-based Belgian restaurant group Taste of Belgium has officially opened its newest location near the University of Cincinnati campus. The restaurant officially opened Wednesday at 165 W. McMillan St. in University Heights with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. At the new location of “Taste of Belgium” he plans to offer two new items. One item on the menu is the “Not a Burrito,” a breakfast potato and egg wrapped in a sweet crepe and accented with jalapeño crema and pico de gallo. The other is the restaurant’s new version of Prince Edward Island Mussels. Chorizo mussels are sautéed in white wine, garlic, onion and tomato with local chorizo, coriander and lime. Taste of Belgium was founded by Jean-François Fréchet in 2007 and began as a small waffle stand at his Findlay Market in Cincinnati. Taste of Belgium will be offering two new items at its new store. One item on the menu is the “Not a Burrito,” a breakfast potato and egg wrapped in a sweet crepe and accented with jalapeño crema and pico de gallo.
The second dish is a new version of the restaurant’s Prince Edward Island Mussels, made with chorizo mussels sautéed with white wine, garlic, onions and tomatoes, then topped with local chorizo, cilantro and lime.
Taste of Belgium was founded by Jean-François Flechet in 2007 and began as a small waffle stand at Findlay Market in Cincinnati.
