Star Travelers SG Pte. Ltd. suspended by Singapore Tourism Board for failing to submit annual business report, impacting travel agency activities and new bookings

Singapore – Singapore Tourism Board (STB) announced. Star Travelers SG Pte. Co., Ltd.. (Travel Agent Permit No. 03297) (“Star Travelers”) has been suspended from travel agency activities from 27 December 2023 until further notice in accordance with the Travel Agents Act 1975.

The suspension was due to the company’s failure to file an annual business summary report (“ABPR”) and an audited financial statement (“AA”) within six months of the end of the financial year. The suspension will remain in effect until Star Travelers submits an ABPR and AA or up to 6 months, whichever comes first. During the suspension period, Star Travelers will be required to fulfill its existing obligations to customers, but will not be able to accept new travel bookings.

Filing an ABPR and AA is a requirement under the Travel Industry Regulations 2017. Failure to submit the ABPR and AA within the stipulated deadlines raises concerns about the company’s ability to meet the minimum financial requirements required by the Travel Industry Regulations.

STB takes a serious view of erring travel agents and will not hesitate to take the necessary steps to protect the reputation of Singapore’s travel industry.
