American Airlines has introduced a nonstop flight from Dallas to Brisbane, earning it the title of the longest nonstop flight in its network and earning it a spot among the top 10 ultra-long-haul commercial flights in the sky.
The route, which will connect central Texas to the east coast of Australia, is expected to cover more than 8,000 miles and have an average flight time of more than 17 hours.
Boeing 787-9 aircraft reconfigured with the airline’s new luxury “Flagship Suite” seats will depart Dallas-Fort Worth for the Gold Coast starting October 27, 2024.
Over the past decade, long-haul routes have steadily grown longer, with record-breaking nonstop flights from Asia to the US and Australia to Europe, pushing nonstop flight times past the 17- and 18-hour mark.
“Very long-haul” is defined as a flight lasting more than 12 hours. Many of these routes are served by airlines connecting the Middle East and Southeast Asia, but business travelers and travelers with connections to far-flung continents are increasingly attracted to the possibility of direct connections. .

1. Singapore to New York – Singapore Airlines

Singapore first launched direct flights to New York in October 2018, with flights to Newark Airport in New Jersey.
