Whether you hate or love Valentine’s Day, the friendly staff at Projector has come up with a variety of movies to commemorate the occasion. There are classic love stories like. casablanca (1942), in which Humphrey Bogart plays a dashing nightclub owner who helps his ex-lover escape from the Germans, but if you’re feeling more stomach-churning, Ari Aster’s pagan horror There is a masterpiece. midsummer (2019), a young American couple whose relationship has broken down travels to Sweden’s legendary Midsummer Festival, but as the locals uncover their horrifying plans, a seemingly idyllic paradise turns We find it transformed into an evil nightmare.
Ang Lee’s work also has a bit of comedic relief. a wedding ceremony In (1993, photo), a Taiwanese-American man who was living happily in New York with his American boyfriend plans a marriage of convenience with a Chinese woman. The motive behind this plan is to appease his parents and help the woman obtain a green card. However, confusion ensues when his parents unexpectedly arrive in New York for the wedding.
