As temperatures drop in New York City and winter sets in, if you’re like us, you’ll soon start dreaming of a far-flung European vacation, specifically a trip to Spain.

But thanks to the talented duo of experienced wine expert Joe Campanle and creative director Ilyssa Sutter, you don’t have to hop on a plane. The synergy between these two has created a Spanish culinary haven in the heart of Brooklyn. The cozy dining room is perfect for enjoying time with friends or partners over drinks and food. Whitewashed brick walls and simple warm-colored lighting fixtures create a cozy space. A long wood-paneled bar spans the length of the dining room to the right, with a cubbyhole stocked with a full range of Spanish spirits and liqueurs. Outside, the spacious patio has ivy-covered walls, potted greenery and plenty of sunlight.

At the helm of the kitchen is Barcelona-born, Brooklyn-raised chef Silvia García Nevado, who infuses Bar Vinazo’s menu with an authentic Spanish spirit.

Joe Campanale, motivated by a long-held desire to open a Spanish wine bar, designed an outstanding drinks program. The wine selection is exclusively from Spain, using organic and biodynamic grapes with a focus on indigenous varieties. Housed in a stunning floor-to-ceiling wine “cellar” – guests can admire the eclectic glass-enclosed collection while walking out to the back patio – 150 bottle options and 15 by-the-glass options are a new wave The spotlight is on the efforts of Spanish producers to cherish indigenous grape varieties.

The cocktail program seamlessly integrates Spanish ingredients and liqueurs, with special emphasis on the iconic gin and tonic culture prevalent in Spain.
