The youngster is a tough-tackling defensive midfielder who heads to Belgium to hone his skills.
Flying Eagles midfielder Tutukwu Nnadi has officially decided to move to Belgian second-division club SV Zulte Waregem, it was announced on Friday, Soccernet.ng reported.
The 20-year-old midfielder, who previously requested a trade from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, joins SV Zulte Waregem on a four-and-a-half year contract.
Nnadi attracted attention with his remarkable performance at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where Nigeria lost to South Korea in the quarter-finals.
Nnadi will wear the number 21 jersey at his new club.
Sports manager Tom Calwe is delighted with the club’s latest signing, saying:
“Nnadi has a unique profile that can be leveraged within our current core. He is a strong, explosive midfielder who combines technique with a great work ethic.
“Although Nnadi is still very young at 20 years old, we believe he can contribute to building the future of Essevi.”
Mr Nnadi expressed his delight at the move and said:
“I am very happy to be here. I am in frequent contact with Avro and have seen how he has blossomed in recent months at this great club. For me, the move to Essevee It’s the perfect time for.
“The next few months are going to be exciting and I am looking forward to building the future with the team.”
Nnadi is reunited with his former Plovdiv teammate Abdoulaye Traore.
The midfielder could make his debut for Zulte Waregem in this weekend’s Challenger Pro League match against Jon Genk.
