The transfer window has been a lifeless endeavor for FC Barcelona. The biggest reason is the club’s financial situation. However, things may change and Oriol Romeu may get a bit of a boost as he has received offers from abroad.
According to Sports Digital, Turkish club Besiktas are interested in Oriol Romeu. The 32-year-old midfielder arrived at Barcelona in 2023. He became a temporary solution to Busquets’ departure and also proved to be a good one.
However, over time, his fame declined. The Urdecona-born player has only made 21 appearances since his return. A move to Turkey could save a lot of resources for everyone involved as the midfielder falls further out of the spotlight.
Although Besiktas have not made a formal offer, the price is expected to be low. In this financially dire situation, Barça will only allow players to leave unless there is a significant gap in the registration of new players, or if the club makes a profit from the transfer.
If the Turkish giants make a significant offer, a deal will most likely be done. Otherwise, the Spanish midfielder will be on a wait-and-see approach until the end of the season. As long as Oriol is given more time, he will likely stay, or the 32-year-old could look at available offers and pack his bags.
After a rollercoaster year in 2022, Mason Greenwood is effectively unemployed due to criminal charges. Fortunately for the young man, the charges were dropped and the Briton was acquitted.
The 22-year-old has since been loaned to Spain’s Getafe, where he has continued to shine. With three goals and four assists in 16 games, the English winger has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including FC Barcelona.
According to The Sun, both parties are interested in serving each other. Barça want to sign the English player and Greenwood believes it would be a dream move. The player’s owners Manchester United have also expressed an interest in selling the winger.
The Daily Mail values the move to Barcelona at more than 46 million euros. Mason Greenwood is a priority target for the Catalan giants next season. This move probably won’t happen until the next transfer window.
