Antwerp, Belgium, February 10 (SocialNews.XYZ) The United States defeated Nigeria 100-46 and Belgium dominated Senegal 97-66 on Friday in the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualification Tournament here.
Reigning Olympic champion Jewell Lloyd led the United States with 18 points after an 81-79 victory over Belgium on Thursday, according to Xinhua News Agency.
For Belgium, pivot Emma Messeman scored a game-high 32 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Yassin Diop led Senegal with 22 points.
The tournament will take a day off before resuming on Sunday with the United States taking on Senegal and Belgium taking on Nigeria.
The other three teams in the group to be played in Antwerp will have two Olympic berths, as the USA has already qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics as FIBA Women’s World Cup title holders. .
A total of 12 teams will participate in the 2024 Paris Games, including host country France and the United States.
