Liam Neeson stars alongside his son Michael Richardson in Made in Italy. Jack Foster (Richardson) and his wife decide to divorce. However, she desperately wants to rob his gallery and sell it. He decided to get money to buy it from her, but for that he had to sell his old villa in Italy. Estranged from his father, he seeks help from Robert (Neeson), whose cottage was where he grew up as a child before his mother died in a car accident.
Made in Italy depicts the emotional journey of a father and son who are separated by the death of Jack’s mother. They discover that the villa is in a dilapidated state and needs to be renovated before it can be sold. While restoring the villa, Robert feels responsible for his estranged relationship with Jack, and pent-up emotions and memories begin to surface.

After his wife’s death, he sends Jack away to ease his grief. Instead, it created a rift between them, as Jack had no one to comfort him over his loss. The film progresses as both characters realize the reality of their relationships and use the villa as a way to heal from their pasts.
