According to reports in Russian media, two drones were spotted near the Novotec natural gas terminal in the Gulf of Finland, after which an alarm was sounded during the night and a fire broke out inside the facility.

The gas terminal is located just over 100 kilometers from the Russian city of St. Petersburg, close to the Estonian border.

In response to the impending drone attack on Finland, Niinistö said: “Nobody is flying drones here. I don’t think Finland will be involved.” The facility is located approximately 100 kilometers from the city of Kotka in southeastern Finland.

The Finnish Environmental Research Institute (SIK) pointed out that the fire at the Russian natural gas terminal is not a major threat to Finland.

According to the Environment Agency, the gas inside the terminal is methane.

Niinistö: There is no war fatigue in Europe.

Niinistö also said there was no signs of war fatigue toward Ukraine in Europe.

“The question is, do we have enough supplies? Can we produce war materials? The important thing is, do we have something to support? Europe has to put itself into production.” Niinistö said.
