The next day, the Danish royal family attended a succession celebration at the Danish Parliament.
On Sunday, the entire Danish royal family attended a celebratory service at Aarhus Cathedral to mark the beginning of King Frederick’s reign.
Queen Mary waved to the crowd as she arrived, looking beautiful in her purple outfit.
She wore the same Soren Le Schmidt coat dress she wore to King Charles’ coronation last year.

Mary paired her coat dress with Jimmy Choo heels and a Jane Taylor London pillbox hat.
The hour-long service marked Frederick’s first official visit outside Copenhagen as king.
Mary and Frederic’s children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were also in attendance.
Former monarch Queen Margrethe also attended, wearing purple.
Queen Mary and King Frederick became monarchs on January 14th.

Her younger sister, Princess Benedicte, wore the same color as she arrived at the cathedral for the ceremony.
“Normally this project would have taken three months, but it took us two and a half weeks,” Bishop Henrik Wypoulsen of the Aarhus Diocese told The Associated Press.
“So we were very busy. I selected some hymns to sing. And the King said he wanted me to sing these hymns.”
