Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Rohleder was born May 26, 1934 in Ireland, Indiana. She passed away on January 10, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Her last rites were performed by Fr. Ambrose Wonyany is at her bedside and her many brothers and sisters are present.

Funeral Mass will be held on February 3, 2024 at 11 a.m. CST at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh. The Mass will be live-streamed on the church’s website.www.sjbnewburgh.org”. Burial will take place in Shiloh Cemetery, Ireland.

Betty graduated from Irish High School in Ireland in 1952. He started his business in Evansville during his rock years and after he attended college he moved to Columbus, Ohio. After she spent several years in Columbus, she moved to Forest Hills, New York, where she became an executive administrative assistant at Time Warner Bank and Credit Suisse Bank in Manhattan. Betty returned to college and in 1997 she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount at Manhattan College. Betty moved to Melbourne, Florida after spending 52 years in the Big Apple where she lived for 10 years before finally returning to Indiana in June 2022.

Betty enjoyed ballroom dancing, Broadway plays, and the bustling life of New York City. She excelled at her needlepoint and photography and took many trips abroad to see the world, including a trip to Hawaii.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Marie (Vere) Rohleder and sister-in-law, Lois (Foltz) Rohleder. her brother, Sylvester Rohleder; her sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Terry Friedman;

She is survived by sisters, Mary Bohnert and Madonna (Lloyd) Taylor of Newburgh, Agnes (Brian) Kelley and Barbara (Richard) Wiseman of Kissimmee, Fla., and sister-in-law Linda (Thermersheim) Rohleder of Jasper. has survived. her siblings, Maurice Rohleder of Carmel, Dennis (Carolyn) Rohleder and Stephen (Mary) Rohleder of Jasper;

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Foundation, 3700 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.
