Organizers of St. Patrick’s Day have announced a number of festival programs to be held in Dublin this year.

Artists Dennis Chaila + Friends, Mother DJ and Saoirse will be participating in the three-day St. Patrick’s Day Festival, which will be held from March 15th to 18th.

The theme of this year’s grand global celebration of Irish art, culture and heritage is ‘Spréach’, or spark, representing the unique essence of Ireland and the Irish people.

The pageant will see Dublin city residents take center stage on the streets of Dublin, celebrating and celebrating the festival’s connection to the city centre.

A highlight will be a collaboration between St. Patrick’s Festival’s community arts program and the North East Inner City Partnership.

Lord Mayor of Dublin, Lord Daithi de Roiste, said: “Each year, St. Patrick’s Day is a great celebration of Irish culture. I especially look forward to seeing the Mayor’s Coach again, taking part in the parade and eye-catching on the city streets.

“We will also be visiting the Festival Quarter of the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, where we have a full program of events for all ages.”

Other pageants include exhibitions by Spraoi, Inishowen Carnival, The Outing Queer Arts Collective, Artastic and the Dublin Cycling Campaign.

Vuy Borg is once again partnering with Kia Motors to launch ‘Spreach’, a new pageant exploring the links between electric vehicle technology and the circular economy, while the Irish Olympic Federation is celebrating 100 years of Ireland’s participation in the Olympics. I am looking forward to Paris in 2024.

Half a million spectators are expected to line this year’s parade route to watch 14 marching bands from across Ireland, North America and France, as well as 18 pageants and showpieces.

Richard Tierney, CEO of St. Patrick’s Festival, said: “Each year, it takes an incredible amount of input from artists, arts people, makers, creators, live events teams and community organizations to make the festival possible. It requires a huge amount of work.”
