Following the instructions of the President of Ukraine and the Head of the Presidential Administration, Ukraine has begun detailed negotiations with Denmark regarding the conclusion of a bilateral security agreement.

The Ukrainian delegation was chaired by Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration. The Danish delegation was headed by Lisbeth Gilmer-Johns, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Bilateral security agreement negotiations were launched as part of the implementation of the G7 Joint Declaration on Support for Ukraine, with Denmark being one of the first countries to participate, along with the Nordic countries.

Denmark’s security commitment reaffirms the strong and unwavering support, including military assistance, that Denmark has provided to our country since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

The parties discussed the main elements of future bilateral security commitments and agreed on a schedule for further negotiations.
