Finland’s Ministry of Defense announced on February 9 that it had approved the 22nd defense aid package for Ukraine worth approximately 190 million euros ($205 million).
Finland’s president gave the green light to the package on February 9, based on the government’s proposal. This brings the total military aid the Nordic country has provided to Ukraine to 1.8 billion euros ($1.94 billion).
As with previous aid packages, Helsinki kept most details about the contents and delivery secret for security reasons.
However, the Finnish Ministry of Defense said the tranche included products purchased from domestic industry with 30 million euros ($32.3 million) of funds set aside separately to support Ukraine.
Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkanen said: “Nationally, we need new ways to support Ukraine more broadly and in the long term. We are currently preparing a long-term plan to support Ukraine.” .

Prior to this, Finland approved the 21st military aid package for Ukraine worth 106 million euros ($114 million) in December 2023.
