The name of Ireland’s most romantic town has been officially announced this Valentine’s Day, but will it be yours?
HenParty.ie conducted an analysis of five years of Google search data to uncover the true identity of Ireland’s loveliest city.
We evaluated searches for Valentine’s Day products such as roses, flowers, perfume, red wine, white wine, prosecco, chocolate, and Notino (an online perfume retailer).

Athy, Co. Kildare, beat off stiff competition to be named Ireland’s most romantic town, scoring 578 out of a total of 800 points.
Second place was Newbridge, another town in Kildare, third place was Ennis in County Clare and fourth place was Carrick-on-Suir in Tipperary.
The study also identified the least romantic towns in the country, as stony areas did not register on the sex appeal scale.
In 72nd place is Skerries, Co. Dublin, followed by Roscommon Town in 71st place, Longford Town in 70th place and Mullingar in 70th place.
