Another group of bachelorettes joined the crew at First Dates Irish Restaurant last night.

Erin, 33, sat down with Adam, 31, from Tipperary, looking for someone to match her energy.

Erin is deaf and began losing her hearing at just nine years old.

Erin told Adam: “It’s not that I’m not listening that keeps me repeating myself. I’m just deaf. I lip read and have a cochlear implant, so I can hear. , you just misheard it,” especially when there is background noise.

“So, I’m not being rude, I’m just deaf,” Erin told the camera. “I was shocked to find out that my hearing was getting worse. “I just sat in my room and held back tears,” she said.

Adam confuses Erica by opening up about his phobia of potato chips.

He asked Erica, “Would you like to become a gourmet?” She replied, “Yes, I love my food. I love trying new foods. I love to cook. What about you?”

Adam confessed. “Well…I’m getting better. I used to be a picky eater. I tried beets last week. It was a big day for me. Last year I got tired of eating jam and peanut butter on the same day. It’s gone.”

“I have a strange phobia of potato chips.”

Erika was surprised and said, “Actually, my biggest weakness is potato chips. Is it the crunchiness or the texture?”

He said, “I’ve never tried it.” And although Adam admired Erica, by the end of her date she unfortunately didn’t feel the “shine” and she wanted to remain her friend.

RTE viewers all couldn’t get over Adam’s phobia.

One person wrote: “I shouldn’t have told her about the potato chip scare. That was a deal breaker Adam.”

The ninth series of First Dates Ireland continues on Thursday nights at 9.35pm on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player.
