New books and educational resources have been launched at Newry and Morne Museum. Enemy alien – walter seckles A journey to overcome adversity Written by Shira Trudi tells the extraordinary story of how a 10-year-old boy came to Northern Ireland from Austria with his family of Holocaust survivors in 1950. They set up their own business, Kilkeel Dancing Hose, which is now closed. The family donated the artefacts to Newry Museum, where they are now on display until April.

Armagh City’s Home of St Patrick’s Festival will be held over nine action-packed days next month, with a unique program of history, heritage and more taking place from March 10th to 18th. Featuring the best of music, art, theater, film and dance across multiple venues, the Home of St. Patrick Festival offers an opportunity to reflect on the life, legacy and influence of St. Patrick in a showcase of culture, entertainment and hospitality. We promise our visitors. Highlights of the celebration include a performance by Phil Coulter at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Armagh City Branch and the John Hewitt Society will be hosting a Festival Poetry Reading with Moira Donaldson, Noel Monaghan and Kate Newman. Dr. David Caron will lead his walking tour exploring Armour’s stained glass. During the festival, attendees are encouraged to visit Armagh County Museum and Armagh Robinson Library. These libraries house artifacts, collections, rare books and illuminated manuscripts that reflect the city’s leading role in early Christian Ireland.

Causeway Coast and Glen Walking Festival
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council is inviting visitors to explore the scenic routes of the valleys of Ballycastle and Antrim during Walking Festival 2024, which will be held from 15th to 17th March. His provider of local activities, Far and Wild, will host the festival in various forests, mountains and cliff-top trails, highlighting the unique history, heritage and mythology surrounding this location. The event begins with fairy lore and a canyon. A gentle looping walk along Ronan’s Way that takes in the historic landscape of Glendun, one of Antrim’s nine glens. On day two, ‘The Living Edge: Where the Land Meets the Sea’ takes walkers along the dramatic cliff views of Fairhead and Murlock Bay. Two leading artists from Northern Ireland and Germany are taking part in a new exchange project that aims to create accessible international opportunities for deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists. The Disabled Artists International Residency Project, coordinated by Belfast-based Atypical University, aims to explore the marginalization that deaf, disabled and neurodiverse artists experience when applying for and participating in international residencies. It responds to feelings.
