UK-based marine design and applications technology company Artemis Technologies has sold a 100% electric foil work boat to Denmark.
The ship is the first of its kind in Denmark and is scheduled to enter service from summer 2024.
The Artemis EF-12 Workboat XL can carry up to 12 passengers and 2 crew members. Equipped with Artemis eFoiler technology, the 12-meter-long vessel is equipped with an autonomous flight control system.
This is the latest addition to the Artemis EF-12 workboat series. The company says these workboats, which are currently in serial production, have been tried, tested and proven under a variety of conditions and comply with British Maritime and Coastguard Workboat Regulations.
The purchase of the Artemis EF-12 workboat XL is part of Denmark’s Vejuro Resort’s sustainability efforts and will replace the existing diesel-powered boat that currently shuttles guests to and from the island. The resort aims to become carbon neutral by 2025 and the eFoiler vessel is key to achieving this goal.
