The lowest temperature this month was -33.1°C on December 7th in Kevojärvi, Lapland, and the highest temperature was 6.8°C on December 19th in Bogšar, Kokar, southwestern Finland.
As for snow, many places across the country received even more snow.
“Almost the entire country was covered in snow throughout December, with unusually high snowfall levels in many places,” FMI said.
“For several days during Christmas week, snow-free areas were found mainly on the southwest coast.”
Northern and eastern Finland typically receives between 40 and 60 centimeters of snow, with the deepest snowfall recorded in Kentarová Lapland on December 26th being 76 centimeters.
Elsewhere in the country, There was 0 to 20 cm of snow in the southwest and 20 to 40 cm in the west.
