It was another dominant performance by Team Canada at the Under-18 Women’s World Championships in Switzerland today.
After 11-0 and 8-1 wins over Germany and the Czech Republic to start the tournament, Canada defeated Finland 10-0 in Game 3 to reach double-digit points for the second time.

Naturally, the big story was Chloe Primerano, a superstar defenseman drafted from the WHL who is having a great year with Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna.
Primerano, who already has six points after the first two games, only turned 17 a week ago, scored a hat-trick in the big win against Finland.
This is the first hat trick by a defenseman in the history of the U18 Women’s World Championship.
She wasn’t the only Canadian player to score a hat-trick, with Caitlin Kramer also scoring three goals of her own, moving her five goals shy of the tournament’s all-time scoring record of 22.
Primerano and Kremer scored just seven seconds apart in the first period, tying for the fastest two goals.

“Those are two great players, but what I really appreciate is that they put the team first,” Asostamuto coach Vicky Sunohara said of Primerano and Kremer after the game.
“They scored these big goals, but I went back to the bench and gave them a high five and thanked my teammates for setting up the goals.”
For Canada, striker Zablocki had one goal and three assists, Sienna D’Alessandro had two goals and Reece Logan had another goal.
Hannah Clarke had a quiet night in net for Canada, making just seven saves on the way to a shutout as Canada defeated Finland 58-7 in a one-sided game.
With the win, Canada secures first place in Group A and will face an opponent yet to be determined in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
