A film about why Denmark is one of the happiest countries on earth is to be screened across Scotland.
Created by journalist Leslie Riddoch and filmmaker Charlie Stewart, Denmark: A State of Happiness aims to encourage Scots to think differently about how their small country is run.
This is the latest in Riddock’s series of films about Estonia, Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands.
At several screenings, Riddoch will participate in Q&A sessions. Tickets are available here.
The film includes interviews with dozens of Danes, many of them Scottish speakers for Nordic Horizons, the policy group Mr Riddock founded with Labor MP Dan Wynne 13 years ago. I have the experience of visiting.
The film was made on a budget of just £10,000 and was funded by the Scottish Independence Foundation and individual supporters of independence.
Mr Riddock also hopes to be able to show it to MSPs in the Scottish Parliament one day to encourage new thinking on policy.
