In a battle between Universal’s two titles at the UK and Ireland box office, the animated film Migration has come out on top ahead of the star-studded Argyle.
“Migration” debuted with 3.5 million pounds ($4.4 million), according to Comscore figures. Argyle, a global underperformer, came in second place with £2 million.
In third place was Paramount’s Mean Girls, which earned £843,601 in its third week of release, making a total of £6.8 million. Disney’s All of Us Strangers came in fourth place with £797,004 in its second weekend, taking its total to £2.7 million.
Rounding out the top five was A24’s The Zone of Interest, which debuted at £585,855. The only film in the top 10 was Curzon Amazon MGM’s American Fiction, which took in £389,375.
The next mid-week release on Wednesday, February 7th is Fizz & Ginger Films’ horror comedy “Dagr.” On February 8th, the Tamil sports and gangster drama “Lal Salaam” starring Indian superstar Rajinikanth will be released.
There are a lot of releases on Friday. Modern Films will release Steve McQueen’s war documentary Occupied City, which bowed at Cannes in 2023.
