Denmark’s new king was crowned just a few weeks ago, and we will soon find out who will be crowned the winner of Denmark’s biggest music competition. Because the songs will be competing against eight different acts. Dansk Melody Grand Prix 2024 – Danish selection for Eurovision – announced today, Thursday 25th January.
Eurovision alumni are among the eight finalists Basim and successful artist Aura Dionealong with upcoming artists from different areas of the Danish music scene.
One of these artists will be exhibited at Eurovision opposite the Ålesund Bridge in Malmö, hoping to emulate the success Denmark had the last time Eurovision was held in Sweden.
He won with the Olsen brothers in Stockholm in 2000, and of course the last time Eurovision visited Malmö in 2013, where Emery de Forest won.
DMGP 2024 format
This year’s Danish final will be held on February 17th at the DR Concert Tuset in Copenhagen.
Three songs will advance to the super final, which will be determined by television voting.
The winner will then be chosen in a super final, with 50% of the TV vote and 50% of the jury vote. The Super Final jury will consist of 10 Danish fans, 5 international fans, and 5 international music experts.

Aura Dione “Mirror Ball of Hope”

Aura Dione It has Faroese, French and Spanish heritage. She grew up on the Seven Seas and her family settled on the Danish island of Bornholm when she was seven years old. Her debut single was released in 2007 and it didn’t take long for her to establish herself as one of Denmark’s most successful artists. Her single “Geronimo” became her most successful song to date.
Aura’s debut also had a big impact in Germany, where they topped the charts with “I Will Love You Monday.”
It’s time for Aura to debut at the Dansk Melody Grand Prix with her self-produced work “Mirrorball of Hope”. It is a hymn about never losing hope and faith in the world, even in the difficult times we are currently in.

The earworm placed 9th at Eurovision 2014 and has since become a popular item among Eurovision fans. Ten years after his victory, Basim returned to the DMGP with the entry “Johnny”. I’m here.
Basim was 15 years old when he first came to the public eye as a contestant on the first season of X-Factor in 2008 and made it to the semi-finals. The 31-year-old artist is currently one of Denmark’s most popular songwriters and has written several hit songs for national and international artists.
Basim also reached number one on the album chart in Japan, one of the world’s largest music markets.

CHU CHU – “The Chase (Zoom Zoom)”

Camilla Chu Hsu Bjornerwith stage name Chuchu, grew up in Denmark and China. She is known for her explosive energy and unique musical style, which she brings to the big stage at DMGP 2024.

Janus Wiberg – “I Need Your Love”

Janus Wiberg is one of today’s biggest voices from the Faroe Islands, and his debut single “Mitt Vakra Føroya Land” (“My Beautiful Faroe Islands”) was dubbed the “unofficial national anthem” by several journalists of the Faroe Islands. ” has been repeatedly explained. And now Janus is ready to take the stage at the Danish Melody Grand Prix 2024 with his entry “I Need Your Love”.
The 33-year-old Faroese singer was born and raised in Tórshavn. His unique, earthy, strong vocals went straight to people’s hearts and reached Faroese radio stations.
He collaborates with songwriter and Carpark North bassist and producer Soren Balsner, and songwriter and producer Nick, who has toured and recorded with big names such as the Backstreet Boys, Ed Sheeran and Lewis Capaldi. He co-wrote this entry with Tsang.

RoseeLu – “Real Love”

RoseeLu will soon take a new step in her career by showcasing her new sound with the song “Real Love” at Dansk Melody Grand Prix. She co-wrote the song with Alphabeat members Anders SG and Anders Bonnrocke, and it was produced by Jakob Gross Bastiansen and Joachim Elsgaard.
With her sensitive lyrics, RoseeLu wants to create a common perspective on love that many people can identify with, asking eternal questions. Is it just an affair or true love?
Saba – “sand”

Saba Lucke Ehrenschlager called by stage name mackerel. Last year, she played the lead role in the musical HAIR, replacing her pregnant twin sister. Currently, she is looking forward to competing in the Dansk Melody Grand Prix and making her true mark as an artist and singer. Through her work, she wants to inspire people to see her life as it is and follow her dreams.
SABA will perform the song “Sand” written by some familiar names on the songwriting team: Melanie Webe (winner of The Mamas “Move” at Melfest 2020), Jonas Sander (winner of Eurovision Participated as a songwriter in 2016), 2019 and 2021) and Danish pop artist Pil Jeppesen.
SABA and her twin sister Andrea were adopted from Ethiopia at the age of 8 months in Ringkoving, a small town on the peninsula of Jutland. In his adult life, SABA began to dream of something more and moved to Copenhagen, where he founded his own company as an entrepreneur.

Stella I grew up in Assens-on-Fyn with the dream of making music. Therefore, she devoted much of her energy to finding raw, direct expression of herself as a songwriter and singer. Stella’s talent shines throughout and is readily reflected in her own songs and collaborations with some of the most talented producers and songwriters in her industry.
Now, she is ready to compete in Dansk Melody Grand Prix 2024 with “Sign Here.” The song was co-written with former Eurovision participants Tim Schuh (a friend from London) and Soren V. Christensen. Last year’s DMGP entry, “Lige her” by Søren Torpegaard Lund.
