Bob W has announced the addition of two more properties to the Bob W family in Finland.

In addition to the Bob W Karti Helsinki facility scheduled to open this summer, the company will open Bob W Kamppi in Finland’s capital and Bob W Turku City Center, the company’s first facility in Finland’s historic region. These two locations will add more than 100 sustainable apartments to Bob W’s growing portfolio.

Historic charm and modern flair

Bob W. Turku City Center is a purpose-built development located at Elikinkatu 12C, one of Turku’s landmark buildings, known as “Vanun Taro” or Cotton Wool House. The property is named after Oi Turun Banu, an entirely female-led textile company that occupied the property until the 1950s. These days, locals call this place the “Queen of Marketplaces”, mainly because of its central location. Bob W. Turku City Center is located next to a lively market square with good transport links and is perfectly located to explore the area.

Turku was chosen for its historic charm, modern atmosphere, vibrant selection of food stalls, cafes and restaurants (Turku is also known as Finland’s food capital), famous shops, malls, It’s not just department stores. In the summer, the city of Turku really shines. Stroll along the Aura River, where you can admire traditional medieval buildings such as Turku Cathedral and Castle, and the river boats give way to cozy pubs moored alongside open-air restaurants, which are internationally acclaimed. Regular music festivals such as Lewis Rock add to the atmosphere.

Constructed in the 1920s, this historic Jugendstil building exhibits unique architectural features, including different floor levels and recent restoration of the building’s façade. Inside, local designers and artists have created a warm and authentic atmosphere inspired by the laid-back browns and greens of the Aura River. The muted tones are accented with hues from Turku’s iconic landmarks, including the city’s official mascot, Posanka (a pig-duck!), and accents of pink. Inspiration is taken from the functionalism of his 1920s and 30s, where comfort was a priority and every corner felt like home.

melting pot of culture

Secured in collaboration with real estate partner Slättö, Bob W Kamppi is located in an area of Helsinki known as the heart of Finland’s music scene. More than half of the city’s live music venues are located here. Kamppi is a cultural melting pot of creativity, home to many museums, record companies and music festival headquarters, and the Urho district has also been nicknamed “Rock and Roll Street”.

In keeping with the growing trend of repurposing commercial buildings, Bob W Campi is a former office block that will be transformed into stylish apartments surrounding a courtyard with a rooftop sauna lounge. The shift from offices to hospitality is bringing new life to cities and we are truly supporting this movement with our projects in Campi and across Europe.

Opening in 2025, the property, a combination of studio and one-bedroom units by Bob W. Campi, has an interior concept designed by local design firm KOKO3, which combines the building’s raw ’70s architecture with modern Finnish design. A unique combination. A locally inspired color palette marries statement design pieces, and the Bob W brand’s signature locally sourced artwork captures the essence of Campi. A collaboration with renowned Finnish contemporary designers, Vaarni & Basta, takes place in a co-working space, rooftop lounge and sauna facility, creating an atmosphere that combines nostalgia and modernity.

While its sustainability credentials and functionality are significantly improved.

Renovation plans include advanced, environmentally friendly HVAC systems, energy-efficient window replacements, roof repairs, parking deck renovations, and the integration of solar energy solutions, all of which are included in the Green Building Rating System.
