Chargers complete GM interview with Saints general manager Jeff Ireland

The Los Angeles Chargers announced that they have completed an interview with the Saints’ assistant GM. jeff ireland.

Ireland, 53, began his NFL career in 1994 as a scout. He then took a scouting job with the Chiefs before joining the Cowboys scouting department in 2001.

Ireland was eventually promoted to vice president of college and pro scouting before taking the general manager position with the Dolphins. Miami released him after the 2013 season after six years at the helm.

After serving as a draft consultant for the Seahawks for a year, the Saints hired him as assistant GM and director of college scouting in 2015. He has lived in New Orleans ever since.

During his six years as Dolphins GM, the Irish team had a record of 46 wins, 50 losses, and one playoff appearance (0 wins, 1 loss).
