Nothing makes me happier than coming home for Christmas. Judging by the smile on her face, Clodagh McKenna couldn’t be happier to be reunited with her mother during Twimas.
The TV chef and her husband Harry Herbert arrived in Ireland and wasted no time getting out and about.
Clodagh appeared to be beaming with positivity and happiness in the picture, which was snapped leaning on her mother while having lunch in Cork.
Clodagh looked effortlessly chic for the lunch date in a cream jumper, gray jeans and a long navy jacket with gold buttons and a structured collar.
Prince Harry also twinning with his wife in a smart navy coat and impressed her by ordering a pint of Coke classic Murphy’s Irish Stout.
“Harry is slowly becoming a Corkman,” Mr Clodder proudly wrote on a photo of Harry holding up a glass. Perhaps we should start serving Murphy’s in the Irish pub on the grounds of Highclere Estate.
The three of them also made sure to take a group photo, with Kuroda wrapping her arms around her mother and smiling broadly for the camera.
Clodagh, who is one of four children, is very close to her mother and regularly posts about her relationship with her mother. On her International Women’s Day 2021, she shared a photo of herself taken at the beach and spoke about the influence her mother has had on her life.
She wrote: “She raised four children while working full time to provide us with the best education possible. She always put us first. As women, my sisters and I have always challenged ourselves to be the best versions of ourselves possible.
“She made all of her children feel that we could achieve anything. Growing up in a small town in Ireland, she said the world was our oyster and we believed in her. Ta.”
Living away from her mother wasn’t always easy for Clodagh. Clodagh, who appeared on the Laughs Of Your Life podcast in 2021, talked about how awful it was not being able to see her mother often during the pandemic.
“There were many nights where I just went to bed sad because I couldn’t see her and I couldn’t take care of her because she went back to Ireland,” she said. “I was so used to going to see her every two weeks and we are so close, but while she was scared of COVID-19, she was unable to see her and take care of her. I can’t.”
Before heading home, Clodagh and Harry celebrated the season with their two children, Will and Chloe, enjoying a little taste of Ireland by sharing a Carlingford oyster before heading out for lunch in London. Sometimes it was.
Prince Harry has three children with his ex-wife Francesca, and often shares photos of himself and Clodagh having fun with their children.
