CSBC Power Technology Co (Barge Power) recently signed a letter of intent with Danfoss A/S, a Danish multinational engineering group. The company aims to provide more efficient and cost-effective electric ship propulsion systems while leveraging tens of dollars worth of electric ship business. Parent company Taiwan CSBC Corporation announced yesterday that its profits were in the billions of dollars.
“Clean energy and power are trends in the transportation industry. Almost half of all new vehicles in Europe, 47.6%, are electric vehicles. We believe electric ships will follow this trend,” said Wenlong Zheng, Chairman of CSBC Corp. said in a statement.
Mr. Chen also serves as chairman of CSBC Power, a company with capital of NT$75 million (US$2.4 million), 87% of which is owned by CSBC, the country’s largest shipbuilding company with one shipyard in Keelung and one in Kaohsiung. Owned by Corporation.

CSBC Power specializes in research and development of integrated electric marine energy storage batteries and power systems. The company said its technical team has many years of experience in ship electrification.

Danfoss, headquartered in Nordborg, Denmark, has proven electric propulsion technology and a leading position in the global market, the statement said. The multinational company has been driving the green transformation of the shipping industry in recent years, the company said.
Through a strategic partnership with Danfoss, CSBC Power hopes to gradually integrate key technologies such as electric propulsion systems, shaft generators, main and auxiliary engines, and AC-DC converters into megawatt-level electric ships, the company’s CEO said. said Mr. Wang Shuoping. The two companies held a meeting on December 22 last year at CSBC Power’s headquarters in Keelung, in the presence of Mr. Chen, Mr. Krisada Petsuksiri, Danfoss Drives Asia Pacific and India regional director, and Mr. Kenneth Chen, chairman of the joint venture. signed the letter.
