Must read

Ireland midfielder Denis O’Sullivan has been excluded from the upcoming friendly match between Italy and Wales.

O’Sullivan last appeared for club or country in a competitive game in December, but was ruled out along with Blackburn midfielder Tyler Toland, who also has a knee problem.

Peamount United’s Erin McLaughlin and Jess Fitzgerald have been named as his replacements. Fitzgerald, 17, will be promoted from the Ireland Under-19 squad and will make his first call-up.

Ireland will play away to Italy next Friday, February 23rd, before returning to Tallaght to face Wales next Tuesday, February 27th.

These two matches will be part of preparations for the Euro 2025 qualifiers, which will begin in April after the draw on March 5th.
