The life of Denmark’s former king, Queen Margrethe II, who abdicated on Sunday in favor of her son King Frederik, will be portrayed in a new television series, project organizers announced Thursday.
The series will chronicle “an important story that concerns all Danes, told from the perspective of the Danish royal family, with Margrethe at the center,” TV2 producer Pernille Beck Christensen said in a statement.
The series is called Afghaznadehunofficially translated as by the grace of god.
TV2 and production company Sam Productions behind the hit political series Bogentook 18 months to develop.
The story begins in 1940, when Margrethe II was born, and follows her life.
