A survey carried out by Megafon for TV2 found that 71% of parents send their children to daycare despite their child being sick.
Furthermore, 21% of those surveyed admitted to administering paracetamol, such as Panodil, to their children before sending them to school.
The FOLA parent organization was shocked by the findings.
“I think that’s completely crazy. There’s absolutely no way a child could go to school sick and play with a lot of other kids. And we’re going to take the fact that they’re going to infect the whole facility. ” said FOLA President Signe Nielsen.

A rally was held at the Bornehuset nursery school in Silkeborg, where parents were implored not to take their sick children to school.
In Bornehuset, there are concerns that parents will try to drug their children without telling teachers.
“Sometimes we have kids who say they’ve taken pills with breakfast,” said principal Suzanne Boker. “For example, if your child has just gotten sick, they might think of it more as a panodil than as a vitamin.”

When faced with this, parents often cite pressure at work as a reason for not being able to be home with their children.
Many declare that they cannot take another day off because they are afraid of being fired.
Alan Randrup-Thomsen, a professor of virology at KU, harshly criticized the parents’ actions, describing the current situation as a “vicious cycle.”
“This fuels the spread of the virus and fuels a cycle in which parents are pressured by high levels of sick leave. If they then choose to place their children in daycare while they are still recovering, The outbreak will continue in daycare centers, putting an even greater burden on parents.”
