Denmark’s announcement came as Ukrainian troops withdrew from the main eastern city of Avdiivka over the weekend, leaving them outnumbered in artillery and manpower by the attacking Russian forces.

Copenhagen has so far pledged 8.4 billion euros in military aid.

According to the Kiel Institute, Denmark’s military aid commitments have increased by €3.5 billion since November, making Denmark one of the top military donors as a percentage of GDP.
