At the 2024 Global Investors Meet (GIM), Denmark will join the Green Fuels Alliance to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of sustainable energy solutions and advance joint global goals towards carbon neutrality. India (GFAI) Initiative was announced.
The partnership, led by the Embassy of Denmark and the Consulate General of Denmark in India, will promote innovation, cooperation and partnership between Danish industry and Danish industry in advancing the green fuel sector, including green hydrogen. GFAI’s primary objective is to foster sustainable energy growth in India by establishing an ecosystem that fosters collaboration between businesses, government agencies, research institutes, and financial stakeholders. Nine pioneering organizations in Denmark — Maersk, Topsoe, Umwelt Energy, Mash Makes, European Sustainable Solutions, Novozymes, Danfoss, Brdr. Christensen and Hydrogen Denmark—as a founding member he was instrumental in the GFAI initiative. The announcement comes at a time when India is working towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
GFAI is a demonstration of activities under the Green Strategic Partnership (GSP) signed between India and Denmark in 2020.
His Excellency Freddie Sveen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, said such international cooperation could significantly support the global green transition.
