Electric Ireland have teamed up with six camogie and GAA inter-county stars for upcoming matches and rivalries in the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Championships and Electric Ireland GAA Higher Education Championships.
Through the #FirstClassRivals campaign, Electric Ireland continues to celebrate unexpected alliances forming between county rivals who come together to pursue some of the most coveted titles in camogie and the entire GAA.
Despite being tied to their county by traditional loyalty, inter-county camogie stars Emma Manogue (TUD & Kilkenny) and Kerry Finnegan (TUD & Dublin) have put their rivalries aside. They will be looking to defend their first ever Electric Ireland Ashbourne Cup title.
Similarly, inter-county footballers Sean Kelly (Galway & University of Galway) and Ryan O’Donoghue (Galway & Mayo University) and inter-county hurlers Mark Rogers (UL & Clare) and TJ Brennan (UL & Galway). They would try to set up a traditional competition. That aside, they are working with the university side towards winning the Electric Ireland Sigerson and Fitzgibbon titles in 2024.
In the first round of the Sigerson Cup, Galway University faced TUD, while UL were grouped with ATU Galway and TUS Midwest in their Fitzgibbon Cup campaign.
Ashbourne Cup matches have already begun, with TUD facing DCU in the second round. The draw for the Electric Ireland Camogie Third Level Championship and Electric Ireland GAA Higher Education Championship took place on 27 November 2023 and 5 December 2023 respectively.

He will return to the United States when his term ends later this year.
