As you all know, RTÉ in Ireland will once again be holding a national selection to qualify for Eurovision. A total of six finalists have been selected to compete on this year’s “Eurosong” special on “The Late Late Show” on January 26th. The first finalists were announced today. It’s Erica Cody’s “Love Me Like I Do.”
In an interview on The Ray D’Arcy Show, Erica Coady revealed that the song was not written for Eurovision, but that she wrote it as her next single at a songwriting camp and entered the song into the national competition with her team. He said he did. She added that she was approached a few years ago, but she felt now was not the time. She said she felt “Love Me Like I Do” was the right song at the right time this year. Erika said the following about this song:
This song has never meant more to me than it does now. It really helped me get through one of the most difficult times in my life while getting through a breakup.
This is the ultimate feel-good self-love anthem.The song title “Love Me Like I Do” has this meaning in it. – No one can make decisions or love you more than you because you are truly your own best friend and you have to sleep with your decisions and thoughts at night.
