Irish Eurovision broadcaster Raidio Teirifis Alien (RT)É) has announced the six artists and songs selected to compete in the Irish National Final. And, interestingly, one of the entries has an Australian connection.
New entries were featured on RT’s Ray D’Arcy Show every day starting Monday, January 8th.É Radio 1 Two songs will be performed every day on Wednesday 10th January.
A total of 378 entries were submitted to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision. This year’s finalists include songs from a wide range of genres, from Celtic metal to hip-hop.
One of the artists, Isabella Kearney, was born in Sydney and spent most of her childhood in Australia. She will be competing with her own song “Let Me Be The Fire.”

Isabella, 31, was born in Sydney and grew up in Donegal and Northern Ireland before returning to Australia at the age of nine. She has been signed to Sony Music as a songwriter since 2018 and is currently based in Nashville.
Her song “Let Me Be the Fire” depicts helping someone special through life’s hardships and discusses mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.
Isabella is a long-time Eurovision fan.She RTedÉ, “Representing Ireland at Eurovision has always been a dream of mine. It was a big part of my childhood watching it with my mother…Ireland needs a Eurovision win” And I think the Irish community is ready to share it with the world’ class song. ”
Having an Australian representing Ireland could be a coincidence for the Emerald Isle. Johnny Logan, who won Eurovision three times, was born in Frankston, Victoria, where he spent three years of his childhood. Bumby Thug is a non-binary artist whose music has been described as “electro rap, confrontational performance art, and frenetic late-night goth pop.” As a songwriter, their songs earned her over 60 million streams.Like Isabella, Bambi also told RTpicture They have been big fans of Eurovision since they were young, and were particularly obsessed with Laureen’s “Euphoria.”

The following members consist of Conor Davies, Joshua Regala, Conor O’Farrell, Newn Kelly and Harry O’Connell. All members of the new boy band are between the ages of 18 and 22. They were brought together by Louis Walsh, best known for managing many successful Irish artists including Eurovision winners Johnny Logan and Linda Martin, as well as boy bands such as Westlife and Boyzone. .
