CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Philippine Women’s National Soccer Team (PWNFT) Filipinas will begin its Pinatar Cup campaign on February 21 (February 22 Manila time) in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
The Philippine national team will play their first match against Finland on February 21st at 3pm.
If you recall, the Philippine national team finished fourth in this international women’s soccer tournament last year, while Iceland won.
This time, they return to their annual tournament as part of their annual schedule and in preparation for this year’s bigger tournament.
The Filipino team is comprised of veterans Tarnai Anis, Jessica Mikula, Jessica Cowart, Sarina Bolden, Hari Long, Sara Eggesvik, Quinley Quezada, Katrina Giroux and Olivia McDaniel.
The rest of the team is Isabella Pasion, Camille Sahirul, Jaclyn Sawicki, Meryl Serrano, Maya Alcantara, Angela Beard, Reyna Bonta, Leah Zhang, Sophia Harrison, Katana Norman, Iselin Xia, and Isabella. Composed of Bandoja, Alexa Pino and Dionesa Trentin. .
The remaining team members are Isabella Pasion, Camille Sahirul, Jaclyn Sawicki, Meryl Serrano, Maya Alcantara, Angela Beard, Reyna Bonta, Leah Chan, Sophia Harrison, Katana Norman, Iselyn Shea, It consists of Isabella Bandoja, Alexa Pino, and Dionesa Trentin.
After the game against Finland, they will play Scotland on February 24th and the final game against Slovenia or Finland on February 27th.
Mark Torcaso, who was appointed as head coach last August, will replace Australian Alen Stajic.
They are currently ranked 38th in the latest FIFA Women’s World Rankings, while Finland is 27th, Iceland 15th and Slovenia 44th.
