A yellow ice warning was issued for parts of Northern Ireland on Monday morning.
The warning covers large parts of County Armagh and County Down and will remain in place until 10pm BST.
The Japan Meteorological Agency warned that some untreated roads, sidewalks and cycle paths may have icy spots, making riding difficult.
Police are urging road users to be careful.
A Northern Ireland Police spokesperson said: “Wherever possible, please drive on gravel roads. Reduce your speed and increase your braking distance from the vehicle in front of you.”
The Department for Infrastructure said the glitter struck a parked vehicle as a result of black ice between Forkhill Roundabout and the village of May, County Armagh.
According to the police, the glitter in this area was incomplete and a replacement glitterer was sent to finish the glitter.
The force also recommended that routes around Castlewellan and Kilkeel need to be backed up due to broken gravel and rain washout.
Dense fog at Belfast City Airport on Sunday caused confusion, with flights being diverted to other airports.
Seven flights were diverted to Belfast International Airport and five were rerouted to Dublin.
