Family-owned Kiilto has partnered with packaging recycling app Bower to launch a recycling incentive program in Finland.
Starting this month, consumers will be able to claim rewards for recycling Kiilto consumer product packaging through the app.
The company’s product packaging, including brands like Erisan, Serto, and Linna, can now be scanned into the Bower app.
Once the package is taken to a recycling point and sorted, consumers can track their location in the app and earn points.
These points can be redeemed for cash, coupons, or donated to charity.
This initiative aligns with Kiilto’s environmental goals and provides consumers with tangible benefits for their environmentally friendly behavior.

Antero Kivioja, Business Area Director, Kiilto Consumer Goods said:
“Kiilto is doing everything we can to contribute to its ambitious environmental goals. Responsibility for their products rests with the manufacturer and we are implementing a range of initiatives, including clear recycling instructions on packaging and on our website. We strive to help consumers recycle packaging correctly.”
The Bower app has around 580,000 users in the Nordic countries and facilitates the aforementioned recycling process and reward system.
The partnership is expected to increase consumer recycling efforts, as Kiilto research shows that 38% of laundry detergent buyers prioritize sustainability.
However, consumers often have difficulty evaluating the responsibility of products and their manufacturers in terms of safety, effectiveness, and recyclability.
